The Sober Summer Tour

I sat in front of my laptop, my fingers hovering over the keyboard, as I mustered up the courage to begin the daunting task of reaching out to various podcasts for The Sober Podcast Summer Tour 2023. This was a project I had undertaken to spread the message of sobriety and promote the #PutTheBottleDown campaign to new audiences. Pride swelled within me as I reflected on the progress I had made in my own journey towards sobriety. It had been a long and arduous road, but here I was, ready to take on the world. As I delved into the process, I immersed myself in a plethora of podcasts, listening to different episodes to ensure I was well-prepared for each show. Among the many remarkable podcasts on my list, one held a special place in my heart: The Subjective Perspective Show, hosted by Nick. Nick had been a significant part of my life during the early days of the Bud and Roach Show, and we had weathered many storms together. I couldn’t fathom embarking on this podcast tour without the opportunity to speak to him live on the air. Hours ticked by as I crafted the first email for the tour, meticulously addressing it to Be Awoke Ent., Nick’s entertainment company, and the home of The Subjective Perspective Show. With each keystroke, I poured my passion into the words, explaining my mission and the impact sobriety had had on my life. The email was a heartfelt plea for collaboration and an invitation to join forces once again. As I hit the send button, a mix of excitement and anticipation coursed through my veins. I knew that it wouldn’t be long before I received a response, but the waiting game was always the most nerve-wracking part. And then, like a burst of energy, my inbox chimed with a new message. It was from Nick. With bated breath, I opened the email, my heart pounding in my chest. The enthusiasm and support in his response were palpable, and I couldn’t help but smile. It was confirmation that my efforts were being recognized and embraced by those who had been directly affected by my battle with alcoholism. If Nick believed in the importance of what I was doing, then surely others would follow suit. With renewed determination, I envisioned the summer ahead—a productive and transformative journey. The prospect of appearing on over 30 podcasts, spreading the message of sobriety, and connecting with countless individuals filled me with a sense of purpose. This was not just about me; it was about making a difference in the lives of others who may be struggling with similar demons.
