After settling into Queens, I found myself with more time to reflect on my past and the things I had put on the back-burner during my time in the entertainment industry. One of those things was my love for wrestling, a passion that had been with me since I was a young child. With Cheez’s birthday rapidly approaching, I wanted to show him just how much I appreciated him by taking him to see his favorite childhood wrestlers, The Hardy Boyz, live in action. House of Glory, a local wrestling promotion, was hosting a show near my new apartment. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Inspired by my love for wrestling and the upcoming event, I crafted a new idea for a wrestling website called Slam Global Network. Using my design skills, I created press badges that would allow us to walk freely throughout the venue. With tickets in hand and press badges around our necks, Cheez and I made our way to the small arena where the event would take place. We could feel the electric atmosphere the moment we stepped in, the energy of the crowd contagious as fans eagerly awaited the appearance of their favorite wrestlers. As the show commenced, I found myself chanting “Holy Shit” along with the enthusiastic crowd of wrestling fans. The air was filled with a sense of camaraderie, every shout and chant uniting us in our shared love for the sport. It felt incredible to be a part of something so pure and passionate, our voices joining together as one to show our appreciation for the wrestlers who put their bodies on the line for our entertainment. One of the most remarkable aspects of independent wrestling promotions like House of Glory was that they allowed fans to see legendary wrestlers up close and personal. Unlike the large-scale wrestling events held at massive arenas, this intimate setting created a unique and unforgettable experience. It was surreal to be mere feet away from The Hardy Boyz, our childhood heroes who had inspired us for years. Throughout the night, Cheez and I were swept up in the energy and excitement of the event. Every slam, every high-flying move, and every shocking twist left us on the edge of our seats. It was more than just a night of entertainment; it was a bonding experience that reminded me of the importance of cherishing the people who have been there for me through thick and thin. That night, I had rediscovered a part of myself that I had long neglected.
