Live @ 169 Bar (The '09 Return)

Living back at home, I would reconnect with my brother, who moved back to NYC after living with my dad for a long time. I had gotten over what happened at National Underground, and Thunder’s recordings of my Gizzi’s gig lifted my spirits. I booked my return show at 169 Bar, in hopes of showing my brother what I’ve been up to while he was away. I just wanted to remember what it was like to play for the fun of it, as I had reached a point where I was trying to portray myself in a certain way that was detrimental to my mental health. In proper fashion, I asked for a 2-hour slot, confident that I’d be able to entertain a crowd for 120 minutes. That was light work, and the calluses on my fingers were more potent than ever. As was customary, I leaned toward the bar area and indulged. Looking off to the corner, I see a famous face. Luis Guzman, the famous Puerto Rican actor, graced my presence as he stopped in for a quick drink. We toasted our drinks, and I took this as an omen that the entertainment industry was still around me. A true believer that everything happens for a reason, I took the stage with more confidence than I walked in with, and delivered a performance to family, friends, and patrons that solidified my decision to continue forward with the craft and pursue my wild dreams.
