Morning View Rehearsal

As I arrived at Green Light Studios in Farmingdale, I was filled with a sense of nostalgia. It had been a while since I had played with “Morning View: A Tribute To Incubus”, but I was excited to get back into it. However, as the day started, something felt off. The idea of singing the same songs over and over again was starting to feel like a chore, and I was still struggling to find the same passion that had driven me to form the tribute band in the first place. I needed to find a way to reignite my love for this musical experience. So I pulled out my camera and started filming a VLOG for the Bud and Roach Show. The idea was to capture our rehearsal process and share it with our fans. The final cut was limited, but as we continued rehearsing, I kept the camera rolling. I talked to the other members of the band, cracking jokes and goofing off between songs. The energy in the room started to shift, and before long, we were all laughing and having a great time. By the end of the day, I felt reinvigorated. Sure, singing the same Incubus tunes could get tedious, but by adding a new element to the mix, I had found a way to keep it fresh. The Bud and Roach Show VLOG allowed me to feel as though “content” was being created beyond what the band offered, and this gave me a new sense of purpose and a renewed love for the practice. As the day winded down, I packed up my gear and said goodbye to the other members of the band. I walked away understanding that while we were still just a tribute band, I was exactly where I was meant to be. I may not have been dominating the globe just yet, but I was on my way, one creative video at a time.
