Eddy Duran would reach out to me with an interview request for a new show he was producing. Hosted by my boy Jonathan Duran, I accepted knowing that it would be fun for sure. I met JD on the rooftop of an art studio in Long Island City. The sun was setting, casting a golden glow over the iconic SilverCup sign. I couldn’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia as I sat down in front of the camera, ready to dive deep into my past. JD was the perfect host, asking all the right questions, and letting me take my time to answer. As we talked about my upbringing in the church, my early years in entertainment, and the struggles I faced along the way, I couldn’t help but reflect on how far I had come. From hitting all the low points of my career to my current position at Purfek Storm Group, everything felt like it had led me to this moment. I spoke candidly about my journey, the highs and lows, the triumphs and the failures. JD listened intently, nodding along and asking follow-up questions that kept me on track. He had a way of making me feel at ease, even as we delved into some of the darker moments of my past. Sitting on that rooftop, looking out over the city, I knew that I was exactly where I was meant to be. I had worked hard to get here, and I felt worthy of being interviewed. Regardless of my drinking, or any of my worst habits, when it came down to it, the work always spoke for itself. I left the building that evening thanking the Duran’s for once again breathing new life into me.
